Oana's open offer for Japan
Oana (aged 27) is a software engineer from Romania. She is interested in serving in Japan for six months and has made an open offer. Oana feels a strong call to Japan, and has been on this path since she was in seventh grade when she was given a picture book with Japanese writing which she was intrigued by. She is still intrigued by the Japanese language. She has served her church already in international student ministry, in the prayer team and in providing summary translations for English speakers. She also has some cross-cultural experience having gone on five ultra-short term mission trips to a closed Romanian-speaking community in Ukraine. She writes: I want to study Japanese very well, so I will be able to translate Christian resources to Japanese. I want to understand better what are the needs in Japan. I want to understand better the culture, what are the new generations worries and problems, and see how I can reach them in an efficient way. I want to learn about the Japanese people, more than I can learn from books alone. I want to improve the language skills.
