The V Family, East Asia

B was born in France but spent part of her childhood in the jungles of French Guiana. She was raised Catholic but felt far from God because of family strife. Seeking a better future she left Guiana to study in France and earned a Masters degree in Human Resources. There she met T and went to his evangelical church. She trusted in Jesus and they decided to marry.

T was born in Laos but before his first birthday he was a refugee in Thailand with his family. They lived in those camps for 13 years. He was raised by Christian parents and came to a saving faith in Jesus after reading the whole Bible by himself. They immigrated to France where he gradually built a life for himself. It took time to catch up on the education he’d missed as a refugee but T persevered by God’s strength.

In 2014 the family had the opportunity to visit a remote Hmong village in Asia which had never heard the Gospel. The Lord stirred their hearts for those people and they returned to France to get Bible training. T did three years of theology in a Bible College and B attended many courses. She focused on how to share the gospel with children, did some practical training with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Scripture Union. During their time of studies they were also blessed with a little boy.

Since that time they have been preparing to go back to Asia to reach the Hmong and praying that God would open a door for them. They have been accepted by OMF to be Associate members and have received a warm welcome from the OMF Hmong team.

Their Hmong church in France has never sent someone to work cross culturally. T patiently shared his passion to reach the unreached and the church caught that vision. They have taken up the faith challenge to send this family. Help with these training costs would cover about 25% of their total budget.
